flo-rida_200x150Jump’ is the brand new single from Flo Rida. Set for release on August 24th physically and digitally via Atlantic Records, it features the vocal talents of Nelly Furtado and is taken from his sophomore UK silver-certified album, R.O.O.T.S.

This year, he has already scored a UK number 1 and global smash hit with ‘Right Round’, which borrows from the Eiffel 65 hit ‘Blue Da Ba Dee’. His ear for a criminally danceable sample is legendary and also apparent on his previous hit single, ‘Sugar’.

Flo Rida’s career has risen with death-defying momentum since the release of ‘Low’ taken from the debut Atlantic Records album, MAIL ON SUNDAY last year. It has seen him win a formidable collection of accolades – including two Grammy nominations for the 4x RIAA platinum-certified ‘Low’, a Peoples Choice Award for ‘Favourite Hip Hop Song’, and an MTV Africa Music Award for MTV Base Request for having the year’s most requested video on the continent.

Not that the road to super-stardom has been an easy one for Flo. He got his first break at 18 when touring with as the hype man for Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew, and his MC skills caught the attention of DeVante Swing – formerly of the famed R&B group Jodeci. Swing flew the young rapper out to LA, where Flo ended up staying for three years, struggling to make his mark. In early 2006, hesitant to leave L.A until he had successfully landed a record deal, he returned to Miami. Continuing his grind, working hard to self promote and with the help of CEO of Poe Entertainment’s E-Class, he signed first to Poe Entertainment and then to Atlantic Records.
