This film is magnificent!

I can’t even really find the words to describe how immense this movie is but I will try…

The film is set in 1980’s South Africa where an alien ship unexpectedly hovers over the city of Johannesburg with fuel problems.

Within it is 1 million hungry, ill aliens who cause no threat to humans, it fact it’s the other way round.

The ‘prawns’, as they are described in the film, are confound for 20 years and the film kicks off with them being transferred to an area outside of the city.

As sci-fi films go, this doesn’t disappoint. The CGI and special effects are outstanding and the aliens detail and emotions are so well displayed. The action in the film is second to none and you really feel part of it.

The most endearing thing about District 9 is the hero Wikus whose acting is unbelievable. The underlined themes in the film and the hidden meaning draw massive emotion. I laughed, I jumped out of my seat and I cried. I highly recommend this film it may just change the way you think about life and that’s what a real movie is all about.
