The famous black and red jacket worn by Michael Jackson in his ‘Thriller’ video sold for almost two million dollars at auction the weekend.

The iconic red jacket, which has been described as “the most recognised and significant piece of pop culture”, was only expected to make £120,000 at auction.

Part of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Shambala Preserve who are currently looking after Jackson’s two Bengal tigers, Sabu and Thriller.

Meanwhile, fans from around the world spent the weekend outside his childhood home in Gary, Indiana – as well as LA – remembering the King of Pop two years after his death.
