With nearly every major artist – including Lady Gaga and Beyonce – having their albums leak online ahead of release, Jay-Z and Kanye West employed some novel techniques to prevent their recent collaboration Watch The Throne from getting out onto the net.

Not only did the pair insist on writing and recording everything together in person, their producer, Noah Goldstein, slept with the hard drives containing the album for the whole ten months they spent making the record.

The album has now broken the iTunes one-week sales record, selling almost 290,000 copies in its first seven days.
