Pitbull’s response to Lindsay Lohan suing him? Asking her out, of course!
Pitbull has spoken out about his ‘surprise’ at Lindsay Lohan‘s move to sue him for defamation – and taken the opportunity to ask her out on a date!
The rapper namechecks the troubled actress in his hit ‘Give Me Everything’. He raps: ‘Hustlers move in silence, so I’m tip toeing to keep blowin’, I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan’.
He said: “I was very surprised when I found out about the lawsuit, to me it was very ironic. At first I read it and thought ‘this has gotta be a joke’, but I’ve come to find out that it’s very realistic.”
Lindsay’s lawyers claim that ‘The lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.’
It’s understandable why Lindsay would go to such lengths to maintain her squeaky clean reputation. It’s not as if she’s been to court accused of shoplifting, had numerous stints in rehab to deal with drug addiction, been seen enjoying wild alcohol fuelled nights out around Hollywood, has a mugshot in the LAPD archives after being pulled over for drunk driving, posed with guns and knives, had public slanging matches with her girlfriend, been forced to wear an electronic tag for months on end or been locked in her own home to keep her under control… Oh.
However, the Miami-native insists that his rhyme about Lindz isn’t a slur and he is in fact doing her a favour by keeping her name ‘relevant’.
“I didn’t look to defamate the grade or hurt someone’s career. For me, mentioning [someone] on a number one record all around the world, I thought it would be helping someone’s career and keeping them relevant,” he explained. “Everything to do with this record is so positive.”
“When I mention Lindsay it’s really it’s a positive message. When I say I got it locked up, if you play at the park, if you from the block and you got it ‘locked up’, that means you run that area.”
Pitbull added that he is going to be performing the track at Sunday’s VMA’s, before cheekily adding: “I’d like to send out an invitation to Lindsay Lohan, hopefully she can come with me to the VMAs, and perhaps we can figure this out.”
Don’t hold your breath, Pit. But saying that, in the world of La Lohan, stranger things have happened!
