‘Anonymous’ target Universal records and more in retaliation for Megaupload closure.

Major sites like Wikepedia went dark earlier this week in protest against anti-piracy laws, file-sharing site Megaupload was shut down last night after it was accused of costing copyright holders over half-a-billion-dollars.

Megaupload has been trending online and now the infamous hacking-group ‘Anonymous’ have hit back at the site’s closure.

Their twitter account ‘Anon Daily’ claims over five-thousand people worldwide are taking down high-profile sites in “retaliation”, including the sites of major record labels like Universal.

Some of the label’s very own artistssuch as Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am and Kanye West have previously appeared in an endorsement video for Megaupload.
