Nicki Minaj has lost her voice after going against doctors’ advice and performing at two free shows in New York.

Tweeting her fans last night, she said:

“And barbz its official, my voice is GONE!!!! I swear it held up just to spk to u guys last nite! Mind over matter. The mind is so powerful

“It was all worth it for what I experienced w/u guys last night tho. Wouldn’t change a thing.”

Minaj had previously revealed she was feeling ill after wrapping up her North American tour, and admitted her doctor had advised her to take two weeks off to rest her voice, due to a bruised vocal chord. However, not wanting to let down her fans, the Pound The Alarm star went ahead with the performances.
