The star cries as she speaks about her ex
Rihanna opens up about Chris Brown in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying she felt protective of him after her assault.
In a section of a special interview being aired in the States on Sunday, an emotional Rihanna says: “It was a weird, confusing space to be in…because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help and who’s going to help him? Nobody’s going to say he needs help. Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source, and I was more concerned about him.”
Oprah traveled to Barbados to carry out the interview with the We Found Love star and visited the area where she grew up. In addition to her relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna also apparently discusses the price of fame, the loss of her grandmother, her childhood and more.
It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to watch the interview in the UK as Oprah’s channel isn’t currently available here, but you can see a preview clip below.
