Big appearances plus a new Jay-Z verse
There had been rumours all over the internet that Rihanna and Jay-Z might join Coldplay for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games and finally last night, it actually happened.
Following 11 days of inspiring sporting achievements, the Paralympics ended with a bang as Coldplay performed a 16 track set, with guest appearances from two of our favourite stars.
Rihanna, showed off her new cropped hairstyle as she joined Coldplay to perform Princess of China then returned to sing We Found Love and again joined Jay-Z for Run This Town.
Jay-Z made an extra effort for the Paralympics, dropping a specially writted new verse when he joined Coldplay for Paradise, featuring the lyrics:
“I deserve a gold medal, get on my level
I deserve platinum plaques, to match my bezel
I walk around with five rings, so pimpish
Welcome to the Paralympics”
The Jigga man explained a bit about the thought behind the new verse saying:
“The thought behind the verse is, anyone with a disability, just wants a sense of normality – that’s why they’re competing in these games. That was the idea to make the verse as inclusive for as many people, and to make it as normal as possible…”
