A official press release confirming the news followed meaning Beyonce will be the star of the most-watched musical event of the year.
More than 112.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s show and The Super Bowl and halftime show will be broadcast worldwide.
Past halftime acts have included Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, Prince and of course Janet ‘Waldrobe Malfunction’ Jackson.
Beyoncé previously performed at the Super Bowl in 2004, when she was invited to sing the national anthem but this time everyone’s already wondering if she’ll bring on any special guests like her husband Jay-Z or even reunite Destiny’s Child.
