Plans announced for an all-star fundraiser concert in Camden, London.
A statue of Amy Winehouse will be unveiled at a concert, in 2014, commemorating the singer’s death, her father Mitch has confirmed.
Plans for an all-star fundraiser concert at the Roundhouse venue in the London area of Camden, when Amy lived after shooting to fame, were confirmed by Mitch Winehouse during a recent interview.
The aim is to unviel a sculpture of Amy in Camden on September 14, 2014. Mitch said: “So far, the support from stars has been incredible. We want to make it like a Live Aid-type concert where we get maybe four, five, six hours’ worth. People doing a couple of songs each. Obviously that involves a lot of people.”
Amy Winehouse tragically died on July 23 2011 aged, 27 just days after she appeared on stage at London’s Camden Roundhouse as part of her 15-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield’s performance at the iTunes festival.
