The nominations for this year’s Academy Awards have been announced.

As expected, Ben Affleck drama Argo and Quentin Tarantino’s western Django Unchained and Life of Pi have had mentions in a number of categories.

Shipwreck story The Life of Pi is its main contender with 11 nods.

Also, Adele got the nod for her Skyfall theme tune. It’s the first time that a 007 film has ever been nominated.
