Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the nominations for the first ever YouTube Awards.
Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Psy are among the nominees for the first ever YouTube Awards.
The nominees were announced by the video giant recently, and are based on the artists and videos watched, shared, and loved the most on the site over the past year.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the way after being shortlisted in four of the six categories, which include ’YouTube Phenomenon’ and ‘Video of the Year’.
The award ceremony will happen on November 3rd in New York, but in the run up, five music events will be streamed from around the world including shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Moscow, London and Rio. Ellie Goulding and Dizzee Rascal are reported to be among the performers at the London event.
Eminem, Lady Gaga, M.I.A. and Avicii have all been announced as some of the performers at the main event and YouTube have said that we’ll be able to see artists “create new music videos in real time…”.
