Miley Cyrus‘ track Wrecking Ball has retuned to the top spot of the US Billboard chart thanks to a parody video.
The record-breaking single toppled Lorde’s ‘Royals’, which had been number one for nine weeks.
Wrecking Ball first shot to to the top of the BillboardHot 100 back in October, when it was first released. This week, thanks predominantly to streams of a hilarious viral YouTube video by Stephen Kardynal, it has once again topped the chart.

Earlier this year, Billboard started incorporating US online streams of tracks to their chart measurement. All official videos, and clips outside of those (including user-generated clips), using authorised original audio are included.
The YouTube video showing Kardynal parodying the original Wrecking Ball visual to unsuspecting Chatroulette users has racked up over 71 million views since it was uploaded last week!
