A new posthumous Michael Jackson album called Xscape, has been announced.
The singer’s estate, in conjunction with Epic records, revealed that the new album will be released on May 13th.
They say Xscape features eight new tracks, which the world will be hearing for the very first time on the album, which features production from Timbaland, Rodney ‘darkchild’ Jerkins, Stargate and more.
Album executive producer and Epic Records CEO, LA Reid, said he wanted to add a fresh, contemporary sound to Michael Jackson’s vocals, explaining:
“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with.”
This will be the second posthumous Michael Jackson album – The first, entitled ‘Michael’, came out in 2010.
