Calvin Harris has hit back after Rita Ora claimed he blocked her Teen Choice Awards performance.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest about the track I Will Never Let You Down, Ora described the song as “time convenient” and said that it was “written out of love” when she and Harris were still a couple.

Ora had been due to perform the single at the Teen Choice Awards in the States but cancelled at the last moment and told Seacrest that Calvin was the reason.

“He wrote and produced the song, so he has to approve anything TV wise…He owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards” she explained.

Making it clear that she was disappointed, Rita said: “I was scheduled to perform and all my fans were texting me…and we put a lot of effort and work into the show.

“I could have got told a few weeks earlier! That would have been nice.”

Harris was clearly unhappy with coming across as the bad guy however, and Tweeted today that there were two sides to the story and that he had a “damn good reason”.
