I have heard so much about the city as a whole and jumped at the chance to spend a few nights there. From what I understand of Dubai this city is enriched in new architecture. I wanted to stay somewhere that really gave me the chance to see this in all its glory. I decided on The Address Dubai Mall. Not it’s not only because the 5 star hotel sits conveniently on top of the Mall but the views of the city are meant to be breath-taking.
On arrival at the airport the climate of the country hits you as soon as you exit the plane the vast dry heat is totally unique. The best and worst thing about the airport is the queues to exit and the taxis being readily available on finally exiting!
A short cab ride later we arrived at the sky scraper of a building the Address, upon check in our room wasn’t ready but the hotel staff explained they had a surprise for us and urged us to have a bite to eat in the nearby café belonging to the hotel. Somehow within minutes I found myself in the mall. If you thought Westfield was the best shopping you had ever experienced Dubai’s Mall makes it look like a local precinct! The shops are incredible the choice is second to none & the staff are very inviting.
After having our quick look around or surroundings we were called up to our room and greeted with an incredible surprise. We had been upgraded because we were there for a special occasion. The suite was about the size of my flat in London and the views of downtown Dubai were something I had never seen.
The next 48 hours in the city were unforgettable, the shopping burned a huge hole in my wallet but I came home with items that were so worthy of the spending. The Mall itself is catered to your every need and I highly recommend the aquarium and the fountains. Watching them at night dancing along to Thriller by MJ as we cranked our necks looking up at the Burj at night was so exciting.
Dubai as a city is fun, enthralling and beyond your wildest dreams . The views from our room were like something from a futuristic movie and we never tired of taking yet more and more pictures of the way the light hit the buildings throughout the day. The dessert sunset dances across the buildings and creates some incredible photographic images.
The hotel itself was probably one of my favorite city retreats. The staffs are on another level of anything I have encountered before. The rooms are decorated with a modern sleek vibe and beyond comfortable. The thing that really stood out to me about Dubai was the level of the leisure services out there.. in a 5* hotel we experienced 7* hospitality. The staff go above and beyond the call of duty and the food! Wow the food is just fantastic. From the breakfast options to lunch and dinner everything is refreshing and of a very high standard. It’s amazing to think that everything is imported! The mind boggles. In all honestly we were sad we only had 48 hours in this vast and ambitious city. We just didn’t want to leave and we are already planning a trip back. I have had great interest to Dj out in Dubai and I hear the nightlife is second to none. I would recommend this type of holiday to couples who are looking for a warm long weekend break with a city vibe. Or a group of girlfriends who want to shop till you drop. I can’t wait till the next time we visit and all that I can share with you then. I know I will be looking at the Address for our hotel again 100%.
