With the festive season nearly upon us it’s really hard to try and find gifts for Men. Do you get them more socks..?  How about trying something totally exciting instead that you can also enjoy!? Now I was totally stumped for my fellas birthday this year… So I decided to go all out and get the whole family to chip in and give him a helicopter ride!

We drove out to Redhill and could not have asked for a better day’s weather… the skies were clear the whole afternoon.  He had no idea where we were going but a lot of grumbles about ‘I don’t even like Paintballing’ went on in the front seat… You should have seen his face as we drove into the air field…!  Once we met the staff and had a tour of the place we had a brief safety demonstration and run through… I cannot tell you how terrified I was! I mean I’m not just scared of heights I get vertigo on escalators!  Somehow and don’t ask me how… I got in the helicopter with no hesitation.  Once in there we were given brief rundown of the flight path and then off we went!  The next 30 minutes were like something out of a James Bond film… We flew over the main attractions in London, down the Thames, past the Shard and up to Greenwich! Looking down at London history and beautiful architecture was literally beyond a dream!  The ride itself was smooth and like nothing I had ever experienced you literally hover.  Once we landed I could finally let go of the seat and catch my breath.. I loved every min of it as did my fella… he said it was the best birthday he had ever had!  Job done…

To give someone in your family the perfect Xmas present try the company I used.. they were professional and the prices vary from a private 30 min ride to a seat in a larger Helicopter which works out cheaper…
